Job Purpose

As a Guest Experience Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of outstanding customer service and operational excellence. You will help lead a team dedicated to ensuring all guests — particularly school groups — have a safe, enjoyable, and enriching stay at PGL Dalguise. Working closely with the Guest Experience Manager and other department leads, you\’ll ensure every aspect of the guest journey is seamless, engaging, and exceeds expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a key point of contact for visiting guests and group leaders, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and enthusiasm.
  • Support, motivate, and mentor a team of Guest Experience staff and Activity Leaders to maintain high service standards throughout the guest stay.
  • Assist with the day‑to‑day running of guest services including check‑ins/outs, mealtime coordination, evening entertainment, and issue resolution.
  • Promote a culture of outstanding customer service across all departments by identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Uphold and enforce PGL’s safeguarding policies, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all guests and staff.
  • Help plan and deliver evening activities and special events that enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Collect and respond to guest feedback to continually improve service delivery.
  • Ensure all procedures are followed to maintain a safe environment, reporting and resolving any issues promptly.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in hospitality, tourism, or guest services (ideally in a leadership or supervisory role).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure.
  • Experience working with children or young people (desirable).
  • A proactive and hands‑on approach to problem‑solving.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
  • A flexible, positive, and team‑oriented mindset.
  • First Aid or Safeguarding qualifications (advantageous, but training can be provided).
