PGL is a leading Health & Safety training and consultancy provider across the Midlands delivering a wide range of qualifications, NVQs, and business support services. As an award‑winning provider, we are passionate about quality, competence, and developing both our learners and our team. Due to continued growth, we are now looking to expand our team with an experienced and motivated Health & Safety Trainer / Consultant.

The Role

This is a dual‑role position combining training delivery and consultancy support. Split of 70% training course delivery to 30% consultancy (This area will be mentored). You will be responsible or able for delivering a wide range of health and safety training courses, that should include several of the below, as a minimum:

  • Abrasive Wheels
  • Working at Height
  • Harness Safety
  • Banksman / Traffic Marshall
  • Fire Warden
  • Specialist sector courses (e.g. EUSR and similar industry‑specific training) - Note, internal training will be provided for courses, but the ideal candidate will be able to deliver at least 50% of the above already.

Alongside training delivery, you will also provide consultancy support services, including:

  • Site‑based health & safety audits across a variety of sectors
  • Desktop reviews of documentation and compliance systems
  • Development and improvement of Safe Systems of Work (SSoW)
  • Supporting clients with practical, real‑world safety solutions

This is a varied and hands‑on role with genuine scope to influence safety performance across multiple industries.

What We’re Looking For (Essential Requirements)

You must have:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. AET or equivalent) – Mandatory
  • Proven experience delivering training in a professional environment – Mandatory
  • A strong construction background (groundworks, civils, or similar) – Highly desirable
  • Experience conducting health & safety audits or consultancy work – Highly desirable
  • A practical, hands‑on approach – real‑world experience is valued above academic titles
  • Friendly, a great communicator and with an appreciation of the wider business and approach

Location & Travel

This role is primarily based within the Midlands (approx. 80%). Occasional travel may be required to Doncaster and London‑based partner/satellite centres.
