Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Estimator / Surveyor role and you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for brickwork, blockwork, and scaffolding projects, including material, labour, and time requirements. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing drawings and specifications, conducting site visits and measurements, and liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal project teams to clarify scope and requirements. The role involves preparing quotations and tender documents, monitoring project costs against budgets, and updating records and reports to support project delivery. The Estimator / Surveyor will also contribute to improving estimating processes and ensuring compliance with relevant safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Experience in estimating or surveying within brickwork, blockwork, scaffolding, or general construction, with the ability to interpret drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including accurate measurement, cost calculation, and budget monitoring.
- Proficiency with relevant software such as MS Office (Excel, Word), estimating tools, and digital record-keeping systems.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with site teams, clients, and suppliers and build positive working relationships.
- Solid organizational and time-management abilities, including managing multiple tenders, meeting deadlines, and maintaining detailed documentation.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, safety standards, and industry regulations related to brickwork and scaffolding.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to attend local site visits as required.
- Relevant qualification in construction, quantity surveying, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
