Join PGIM, the global asset management business of Prudential, as a financial reporting specialist. This 9‑month fixed‑term contract is within the Finance team of the Shared Services Centre.
What You Will Do
- This role reports to the Financial Controller and the holder will be responsible for day‑to‑day general accounting (UK GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP reporting for certain legal entities), updating and reconciling the general ledger, reviewing and analysing results of those entities, ensuring timely inter‑company and third‑party invoicing and monitoring the collection of receipts.
- The holder will also prepare the annual statutory accounts, participate in the annual audit process, assist with internal audit matters, prepare board reporting, and help develop accounting policies, procedures and guidance while maintaining the overall control framework.
What You Can Expect
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting, liaising with the business and shared services centre colleagues to ensure robust and timely reporting.
- Participation in annual audit process, including preparation of financial statements under UK GAAP, IFRS or simplified IFRS norms.
- Preparation of quarterly Board reports and other financial reporting as required.
- Preparation of inter‑company and third‑party invoicing and monitoring of receipts.
- Maintenance of control framework, including documentation of processes and controls.
- Participation in projects to improve processes, reporting and control framework.
What You Will Bring
- Degree in a relevant field.
- A professional accounting qualification or part‑qualified.
- Experience of reporting under UK GAAP, IFRS, including knowledge of IFRS 16, IFRS 15, IFRS 9 and simplified IFRS.
- Experience of reporting under US GAAP and knowledge of the differences between US and IFRS GAAP is desirable.
- Experience of preparing Financial Statements under FRS 101 & FRS 102 and IFRS, including interpretation and implementation of new standards and consolidation of accounts.
- Experience of implementing and maintaining a control framework, including documentation of controls.
- Experience of external and internal audits, including interim and final audit participation and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful completion of the audits.
- Able to analyse data and challenge inconsistencies to ensure data is robust and variances are understood and explained.
- Good communicator, able to explain technical accounting issues clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Experience of drafting financial statements and comfortable writing technical memos.
- Task orientated and comfortable challenging inconsistencies to ensure data is fully understood.
- Skilled in office technology – Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.
- Excellent Excel skills, good PowerPoint and Word experience.
