We have an exciting opportunity for an energetic and passionate person to lead a small but strong team in our Oamaru Store on a full-time permanent basis. PGG Wrightson is a leading provider of products and services to the agricultural sector. We are helping grow the country through our knowledge, service and expertise.
About the role
A vacancy has arisen for an experienced Leader to join our dynamic team in our Rural Supplies store in Oamaru. In this role you'll be responsible for leading a team of salespeople to provide technical sales advice and services to a range of agricultural customers. You will be responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the store in line with company strategy and values, and you will work with the wider team in the region to grow our market share and business presence in the community. Administration, compliance, inventory and staff management are also important parts of this role, so you'll be computer savvy with strong oral, written and interpersonal skills. You will be highly organised and enjoy working in an autonomous environment dealing with a wide range of customers.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue opportunities for growth with existing and potential clients
- Complete required store administration and inventory management processes in line with approved company procedures
- Prepare, submit and monitor monthly sales budgets, manage inventory requirements for the store
- Provide effective management of the store team including coaching, appraisals and individual and team development.
Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership, management & sales skills preferably in a retail environment.
- New Zealand agricultural sector knowledge, experience and technical expertise
- Excellent level of oral and written communication and be able to relate well to your store team, Technical Field Reps and our customers
- A background in administration and inventory management would be helpful.
