The job role of a Civil Engineer is to design, build, and maintain infrastructure that supports modern society β from roads and bridges to renewable energy projects and water systems. The role combines technical design, project management, and site supervision. Requirements:
- Strong foundation in maths, physics and engineering principles
- Experience with geotechnical studies & concrete works
- Wind energy experience a plus
- Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Proficiency in design and analysis software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD, SAP2000, etc.)
- Knowledge of building codes, construction standards, and sustainability practices
- Project management and problem-solving skills
- Communication and teamwork, especially with multidisciplinary teams
Core Responsibilities:
- Planning & Design β Develop engineering designs, drawings, and specifications. Use CAD and modeling software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, STAAD, etc.). Perform structural, geotechnical, or hydrological calculations depending on specialty. Ensure designs meet regulations, codes, and sustainability standards.
- Project Management β Assist in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting. Coordinate with architects, contractors, surveyors, and other engineers. Review contractor bids and technical submissions. Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed.
- Site Supervision β Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications. Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and material testing. Resolve technical issues that arise during construction. Ensure safe working practices are followed on-site.
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) β Conduct risk assessments for construction activities. Implement safety standards and environmental protection measures. Ensure compliance with local building regulations and environmental laws.
