PG Global is recruiting a Project Developer for fast-growing energy storage projects. With this role you will be responsible for taking energy storage projects (like large-scale lithium-ion or flow battery systems) from concept through to construction readiness. The role blends business development, technical knowledge, and project management.
Requirements:
- Experience with permitting and land acquisition.
- Understanding of UK energy markets.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Grid & Market Analysis
Work with grid operators (TSOs/DSOs) to secure interconnection capacity.
Assess market opportunities (frequency response, capacity markets, arbitrage, grid services).
Model project economics and revenue streams.
2. Permitting & Regulatory Approvals
Manage planning applications (environmental impact, noise, fire safety, visual impact).
Ensure compliance with national and local regulations for energy storage facilities.
Liaise with government agencies, utilities, and community stakeholders.
3. Project Development & Design
Coordinate feasibility studies, geotechnical surveys, and site assessments.
Oversee preliminary engineering, including system sizing, technology selection, and layout design.
Work with battery suppliers, EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) contractors, and consultants.
4. Stakeholder & Community Engagement
Build relationships with local communities, councils, and landowners.
Conduct public consultations and manage objections.
Act as the main point of contact for external stakeholders.
