PG Global is seeking a reliable and technically minded Assistant Mechanic to support the maintenance, inspection and repair of mechanical equipment on an offshore installation. Working alongside experienced mechanics and engineers, you will assist with preventative maintenance, fault finding and repairs to help ensure critical machinery remains safe, reliable and operational.
- Assist with planned, preventative and corrective mechanical maintenance
- Support the inspection and servicing of pumps, engines and machinery
- Assist with diagnosing mechanical faults and equipment breakdowns
- Help dismantle, repair and reassemble mechanical components
- Carry out routine equipment checks and report defects
- Assist with installation, testing and commissioning of machinery
- Maintain tools, equipment and mechanical work areas
- Record maintenance activities and equipment readings
- Support senior mechanics and engineers during maintenance activities
- Follow permit-to-work, isolation and company HSE procedures
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings and emergency drills
Requirements:
- Previous Assistant Mechanic or relevant mechanical experience
- Relevant mechanical qualification or technical training
- Vast Offshore Oil & Gas experience
- Good practical and fault-finding skills
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities
- Commitment to HSE and safe working practices
