Department Overview:
The UK Access and Value team are a team of patient focused, technically minded health economic, outcomes research and market access experts. Our motivation is to deliver more patient centred value-based healthcare, with industry leading technical capabilities, increasing patient access to our innovative medicines and vaccines. We work in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) with bodies such as NICE/SMC/AWMSG to evaluate clinical evidence to understand how well the medicine or treatment works and economic evidence to assess how well the medicine or treatment works in relation to how much it costs the NHS - does it represent value for money?
What can I achieve and what will I be accountable for whilst completing a placement at Pfizer?
The Health Economics and Market Access Undergraduate will become a core member of the HTA cross-functional team, supporting the development and implementation of UK market access strategies. The Access & Value team is made up of professionals specialising in a number of areas including health technology assessment, health economics, market access and outcomes research, which will provide flexibility for the successful candidate to focus on an area of interest, if desired.
Objectives of the role will be to:
- Assist UK Access & Value with the management of new and existing projects.
- Support the UK Access & Value team on critical projects throughout the duration of the assignment.
- Involvement in team-based meetings to progress projects and initiatives.
- Act as ad-hoc support to the UK Access & Value team.
- Utilise artificial intelligence (AI) and other digital solutions to deliver Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and Market Access intelligence/analytics support.
- Collate and review documents and processes related to UK Access & Value projects.
- Maintain and develop IT tools and systems to support UK Access & Value projects.

- Good communication skills, including the ability to confidently communicate with senior management.
- Excellent planning and organisation skills, including the ability to multi-task between contending assignments.
- Ability to problem solve, evaluate and develop innovative and creative solutions.
- IT competent, with strong MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills.
