Our Medical Affairs Graduate Future Leader Programme is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills and behaviours essential for success in Medical Affairs - spanning medicines and vaccines across diverse therapeutic areas.

Across a structured 24-month programme, you will rotate across three Medical Affairs Business Units - Primary Care, Specialty Care and Oncology - gaining practical experience, scientific insight and structured leadership development. You will also benefit from bespoke learning opportunities and exposure to the cross-functional teams Medical Affairs collaborates with. This blend of exposure and responsibility will help you build the foundation to become one of tomorrow's Medical Affairs leaders.

Role Main Responsibilities and Duties

  • As a Medical Affairs Graduate, you will play a supportive role within the UK Medical Affairs team, contributing to key activities while developing foundational knowledge and skills in scientific communication, stakeholder collaboration, and compliant delivery of Medical Affairs initiatives.
  • Support colleagues in building and maintaining collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals and patient groups.
  • Assist in preparing scientific materials and resources that strengthen Pfizer's engagement with the healthcare community.
  • Support logistics for meetings, visits, and engagements with healthcare professionals.
  • Shadow experienced team members during external interactions to learn how scientific dialogue is conducted responsibly and compliantly.
  • Support the delivery of elements of the medical plan, including literature reviews, data summaries, and evidence-gathering activities.
  • Assist in ensuring scientific information provided to healthcare professionals and patients is accurate, balanced, and based on approved resources.
  • Support cross-functional teams in the development of materials by gathering reference materials and ensuring compliance.
  • Help collect and organise customer insights shared by senior colleagues to support ongoing strategy development.
  • Support the planning and execution of advisory boards, including logistical coordination and documentation.
  • Provide support across a wide range of internal teams including Regulatory Affairs, Drug Safety, Medical Information, Health & Value, Corporate Affairs, and Clinical Operations.
  • Assist in coordinating medical reviews, preparing documentation, and organising cross-functional meetings.
  • Support colleagues working on materials for HTA dossiers, regulatory queries, product information updates, and other internal deliverables.
  • Learn and apply the ABPI Code of Practice through supervised participation in review processes and customer engagement activities.

General Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain foundational scientific knowledge of relevant therapy areas and Pfizer medicines.
  • Manage multiple tasks and workstreams with appropriate guidance from senior team members.
  • Build digital skills and use internal systems to support Medical Affairs operations.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and project updates to deepen understanding of Medical Affairs.
  • Build relationships across the organisation to contribute to a collaborative working environment.

Qualifications

  • Recent graduate with a First or Upper Second-Class degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
  • For Medical and Pharmacy graduates, Foundation Training should be completed.
  • For science graduates, a postgraduate degree (e.g., MSc) is welcome but not required.
  • Genuine interest in Medical Affairs, scientific communication, and improving patient outcomes.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK.

  • Strong organisation and time management skills; able to support multiple workstreams with guidance.
  • Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build professional relationships.
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messages for different audiences.
  • Comfortable engaging with scientific information, including literature searches and evidence summaries (training provided).
  • Proactive and resourceful, willing to take initiative while seeking support appropriately.
  • Ability to work with digital tools and platforms, and an openness to learning new systems.

  • Office location (Walton Oaks) - minimum 3 days a week required to be onsite.
