Breast Therapy Area Specialist within the Oncology Business Unit, driving growth and implementing projects and initiatives across a range of accounts for existing Breast portfolio products.
Role Responsibilities:
- To successfully and effectively sell the product to key clinicians and stakeholders within the patient pathway to ensure our commercial success nationally and their territory.
- To work with the Breast Commercial Manager (CM) and HPM to identify key customers who may be used throughout the country as speakers at promotional meetings.
- To develop & manage relationships with key customers within priority accounts as established with the HPM.
- To effectively and efficiently manage your time to ensure we achieve key territory and brand objectives within the POA.
- Account planning and prioritization to include:
- Work with Healthcare Partnership Manager (HPM) to write best in class business plans for priority accounts.
- Develop a target customer list which will allow the maximum ROI for the territory.
- Proactively review and update business plans on a monthly basis and provide key insights to the HPM highlighting and updates on progress in specified accounts.
- Confidently challenge when new information has been identified based upon key customer insights which will allow plans to be updated or amended.
- Detailed sales analysis required to comprehend the performance of key accounts and be able to demonstrate how these insights are driving your activity and focus.
- Ensure best practice is relayed amongst the district colleagues as appropriate.
- Deliver activity metrics in line with territory and national business plans.
- Activity tracked in PforceRx and updated on a monthly basis in business plans.
- Implement key activities and initiatives as established by the Commercial Manager (CM) which may include influencing local protocols, standard operating procedures and treatment guidelines.
- Appropriately manage territory budget and ensure that any over or under spend is highlighted in a timely manner to the HPM and Commercial Manager (CM) to allow resource reallocation.
- Develop weekly plans demonstrating clear SMART pre call objectives for all key customers and time allocation for the week.
- First class clinical knowledge of the oncology environment.
- Work with all key members of the accounts MDT.
- Ability to execute a sales call to ensure that you meet your objectives and provide opportunities and solutions for customers moving forward.
- The ability to close with action in every call, to review your pre-call objectives, develop next call objectives and clearly demonstrate to the NSD how you have moved the business forward.
- A strong team player with an outgoing nature who has demonstrated the ability to work well both within a team and on their own for extended periods of time.
- Work closely with regional medical colleague (RMRS), Commercial Manager (CM) Healthcare Partnership Manager (HPM) and head office colleagues to align all activities and share expertise.
- Proactively approaching your manager when issues or concerns arise – either personally or professionally.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- The ideal candidate will have an 'A' Level or 'Higher' in science subjects and ideally a Life Science Degree.
- ABPI qualification within first two years of employment as a representative. Representatives new to the pharmaceutical industry must take an appropriate exam within their first year of employment as a representative.
- UK pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Effective working knowledge of NHS structures and the inter-dependencies between Health and Care systems and service providers, across primary care and secondary care.
- Advanced selling skills and ability to critically appraise & present clinical and real world data with impact.
- Experience in building long term customer relationships and advocacy development.
- Be able to demonstrate an excellent level of product knowledge and knowledge of your current therapeutic area. Oncology knowledge and experience would be an asset.
- To confidently utilize Word, Excel and PowerPoint to manipulate and develop appropriate documents, reports and reviews.

- Basic comprehension of core digital metrics used by the organization.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Digital Affinity with multichannel offerings and virtual engagement excellence.
- Business planning skills – comprehension of operational planning process.
- Previous experience in a secondary care environment.
- Pharmacy qualification and experience (Oncology BU only).
Non-standard work Schedule, Travel or environment requirements:
- Remote worker. The role and customer facing activity will be a mix of face to face & remote working based on customer preference & business need.
- Occasional night away from home will be required.
