ROLE SUMMARY
The Business Excellence Senior Manager – International Markets strengthens commercial performance across GH&B’s International business as the business partner to its commercial and country leaders.
Working closely with the Commercial Excellence & Innovation team and Pfizer Digital, the role leads initiatives end to end – from capturing and prioritizing business needs, building the business case and ROI, and guiding initiatives through RAMP and the GH&B AI & Data Portfolio Council, to partnering on the build and leading rollout, change management and adoption in-market.
Priority areas include extending the GH&B data and reporting foundation to International markets, localizing proven pricing and tender models, and strengthening tender and contracting processes across International markets through technology-enabled improvements, with an initial focus on Europe.
The role also harmonizes process excellence across GH&B commercial departments and champions a data-driven, AI-enabled culture across GH&B commercial teams.
- ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the single point of contact for International commercial and country leaders: capture, prioritize and translate business needs – analytical, tendering, contracting and best practice – into clear business requirements for the Commercial Excellence & Innovation team.
- Develop sound business cases for technology and analytics initiatives, quantifying ROI and business value, benefits, risks, resources and budget, and securing sponsorship and funding.
- Guide initiatives through governance end to end, including the RAMP approval process, Legal and compliance review, and the GH&B AI & Data Portfolio Council, resolving issues early so projects keep moving.
- Act as the business lead through the build, partnering with the Commercial Excellence & Innovation team and Pfizer Digital on AI, machine learning, automation and dashboard solutions, and on integrating International market data and reporting into the GH&B data foundation.
- Map current tender and contracting processes across International markets, with an initial focus on Europe – process steps, roles, hand-offs, and the systems and tools used – to identify technology-enabled improvement opportunities.
- Lead the localization and deployment of proven pricing and tender predictive models and of technology-enabled tender and contracting improvements across International markets, adapting them to local tender structures, pricing dynamics and contracting requirements.
- Own change management and adoption of GH&B commercial platforms and analytical solutions in International markets, including reporting and pricing tools: partner with market clusters and tender & contracting teams to embed them in day-to-day ways of working, lead communications and training, and track utilization and realized value.
- Diagnose performance trends with analytics to inform resource allocation and commercial decisions, and embed commercial best practices across markets to improve GTM execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Commercial, Portfolio, Digital, Legal) to drive integrated market execution.
- BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong experience in the pharmaceutical industry (hospital, sterile injectables, biosimilars and/or generics) with strong history of achievement and performance; some commercial operations experience.
- Project management experience leading cross-functional initiatives end to end – from requirements and business case through governance, build and rollout – delivering on time and within budget while managing multiple complex projects and competing priorities.
- Understanding and expertise in the Hospital & Biosimilar markets, including experience supporting International commercial markets.
- Hands-on experience with commercial portfolio, pricing and data systems (e. g., tender and contract management platforms, pricing and analytics models, data warehouses and business intelligence dashboards), and the ability to translate business needs into system and data requirements.
- Demonstrated development and implementation of large continuous improvement initiatives leading to improved operational and financial results.
- Intellectual rigor and flexibility/tenacity to identify and manage strategic trade-offs.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills; proven ability to lead highly effective teams and build cross-functional relationships, laterally and hierarchically, in a complex, fluid, multidisciplinary matrix environment without formal authority.
- Change management experience driving adoption of new tools, processes or analytical models with commercial teams, including communications, training and measuring adoption.
- Excellent verbal/written communication, listening and presentation skills; ability to pull together information from multiple (sometimes disparate) sources and synthesize it in a manner that allows users to more clearly understand.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strongly preferred: experience with tender and contracting processes in hospital or institutional markets (e. g., public/hospital tenders, distributor and group purchasing contracting, tender submission and pricing workflows), particularly in Europe or other international markets.
- Experience supporting process automation or AI-enabled workflows in a commercial, tendering or contracting environment.
- Experience supporting commercial teams across multiple international markets, with an understanding of how local market structures, regulations and tender processes differ.
- Project management or change management certification (e. g., PMP, PRINCE2, Prosci).
