The AI Search & LLM Strategy Pilot in Command will lead the design, implementation, and international rollout of Pfizer's AI Search and Large Language Model (LLM) strategy, working cross-functionally to establish the right content is surfaced. This role is responsible for operationalising the AI Search programme — moving it from pilot to a permanent, scaled capability — coordinating across markets and functional teams, and ensuring measurable business impact for visibility, content performance, and patient/HCP reach. The position is international in scope, requiring close collaboration with stakeholders across multiple countries, business units, and may require engagement with external AI platform partners.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Programme Leadership & Execution
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of the AI Search & LLM strategy across international markets, moving the programme from pilot to permanent, standard capability across our brands.
- Coordinate across Commercial, Digital, Medical, Legal, and Business Transformation functions to prevent fragmented execution and uncoordinated decision-making.
- Serve as the named owner and primary interface for the programme to ensure we have clear governance and decision making, leveraging proven models to ensure continuity and scale.
- Drive speed of execution through dedicated cross-functional coordination and governance.
- LLM Distribution Strategy
- Define and operationalise Pfizer's LLM distribution strategy, including channel prioritisation, access models (API, web, structured feeds), and visibility control across major AI platforms.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of AI partnership opportunities, evaluating new platforms and integration models as the LLM landscape evolves.
- Ensure Pfizer content is structured, tagged, and positioned to be retrieved and cited accurately by leading AI systems (e.g. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot).
- Market Activation Model
- Establish a clear deployment approach across markets, with segmentation (archetypes) and tailored playbooks to scale adoption effectively.
- Coordinate with regional and in-market teams to ensure seamless localisation and adoption of AI search tools and workflows.
- Track and report on market activation progress, using insights to iterate on the model and inform scale-up plans.
- AI-Ready Content Supply Chain
- Transform content creation into a structured, modular, and metadata-driven system designed specifically for LLM consumption.
- Lead the development and deployment of the GEO/AEO playbook and content agent for Pfizer's international portfolio.
- Drive alignment between the AI search strategy and knowledge management platforms to ensure the knowledge layer is accurate, current, and compliant.
- Test-and-Learn Engine
- Build a continuous experimentation model to iteratively optimise GEO and AI search performance through rapid testing and learning loops.
- Own the GEO insights measurement framework together with Digital, ensuring AI-driven search visibility and LLM citation performance are tracked across priority markets.
- Define and report on KPIs including AI search share, LLM citation rate, content coverage gaps, and engagement metrics.
- AI-Native Compliance
- Design scalable, compliant-by-design frameworks for AI-generated and LLM-surfaced content, including guardrails and reusable approved components.
- Collaborate with Medical, Legal, and Regulatory teams to ensure all AI search content meets pharmaceutical compliance standards.
- Define Pfizer's RAG strategy, ensuring retrieval-augmented outputs remain accurate, brand-aligned, and medically compliant.
- Business Case & Investment Ownership
- Own ongoing financial accountability for the programme, working with stakeholders to secure and manage investment.
- Prepare and deliver regular updates to governance bodies including ATC, AIT and ILT.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management
- Collaborate with International stakeholders and in-market teams to align on resource needs, training investments, and success metrics.
- Champion AI search literacy across functions, building capability and confidence in LLM-driven content strategies.
- Identify and proactively address risks including unclear mandates, capability gaps, and evolving regulatory requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Relevant degree education (e.g. marketing, communications, digital, business, or equivalent).
- Significant experience leading international digital or content strategy programmes, preferably in healthcare, pharma, or regulated industries.
- Strong understanding of AI search, generative AI, LLMs, GEO/AEO, and related technologies and their application in commercial content contexts.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive change across multiple markets and business functions.
- Experience owning or contributing to measurement frameworks, including search/content performance analytics.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and programme management skills.
- Ability to work and multi-task under pressure, respond quickly to changing situations in complex project environments, and use personal initiative.
- Understanding of pharmaceutical marketing compliance requirements.
- Understanding of the pharmaceutical business and key commercial drivers.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with BrightEdge, SEMrush, or comparable search analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with RAG architectures, knowledge graphs, or AI content agent builds.
- Experience working with AI platform partnerships (e.g. Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, Perplexity).
- Experience with content governance in a pharmaceutical or life sciences environment.
- Strong knowledge and experience across different content formats and channels.
- Proactive and self-directive mindset with proven track record of delivering in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

- Supervision
- May oversee seconded colleagues, SMEs, and contractors engaged across the programme workstreams. Matrix responsibility across functions including Digital, Commercial, Medical, and Legal. Reports to ICO Go to Market Excellence Lead with governance from Commercial + Digital + Medical ATC.
