About the Team
The Customer Experience, Insights & AI (CXI&AI) organisation is accountable for creating, configuring, launching, and running digital products, services, technologies, and experiences that engage consumers and physicians while improving patient value, access, and outcomes. This role sits within the OSS AI Studio, a multidisciplinary team focused on rapid prototyping and delivery of AI‑powered internal applications and tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Support OSS AI Studio to deliver rapid AI‑enabled prototypes that challenge existing ways of working.
- Work closely with developers, product managers, designers and AI engineers to design, build and iterate on internal tools, automations and micro‑applications.
- Support the assessment of internal processes and workflows to identify where AI‑enabled prototypes could reduce manual effort.
- Build working prototypes of internal applications using technologies such as React, NextJS, Python and Supabase.
- Deliver AI‑enabled internal solutions including automations, workflows, dashboards and micro‑applications, iterating quickly based on user feedback.
- Explore and experiment with emerging AI capabilities and tools such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Cursor.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers and product managers to transition successful prototypes into production‑grade solutions.
- Apply governance, compliance and security best practices to ensure all work meets Pfizer standards.
- Produce documentation and support knowledge transfer for maintainability and scalability.
- Stay up to date with AI trends and industry best practices.

Person Specification
- Completing a placement as part of a University Degree, either through Year in Industry or Gap Year.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering or a related field at a UK University.
- A strong foundation in AI technologies, machine learning concepts and software development principles.
- Experience or curiosity with AI platforms such as OpenAI and Anthropic, and tools such as Cursor, N8N or Supabase.
- A demonstrable portfolio of applications, side projects or prototypes (e.g., GitHub repositories or live demos).
- An interest in identifying internal process improvement opportunities and proposing AI‑driven alternatives.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to think critically and creatively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate technical concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Motivation and resilience to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced environment, with a proactive approach to development.
- Ability to work collaboratively while also taking initiative and working independently.
