CQ International Markets Team Lead
The CQ International Markets Team Lead is accountable for the flawless execution of CQ services including policy consultation and program design for company sponsored programs (CSPs), patient support programs (PSPs) and the review and approval of promotional content to enable Pfizer’s commercial business to manage risk and ensure quality across assigned markets and CQ service areas.
As part of the CQ International Markets Leadership team the CQ International Markets Team Lead will lead strategic commercial quality initiatives in support of the CQ strategy.
The CQ International Markets Team Lead will lead a team of CQ Leads to deliver high quality, audit ready and cost optimized CQ services that meet business needs whilst ensuring Commercial and CQ resource allocation is fit for purpose and focused on areas of highest risk, and greatest complexity.
This role has an accountability to maintain a state of control and ensure markets are audit and inspection ready.
This role is expected to maintain strong relationships with senior commercial stakeholders, functional groups and other CMO stakeholders within the accountable markets.
This role will be an active thought leader in commercial quality, drawing upon best practice to identify new ways of working, and drive continuous improvement that generate value creating opportunities for the Commercial business.
This includes proactively driving the continuous evolution of CQ’s International Markets model to achieve CQ’s vision and operating plan commitments.
Responsibilities
- People
Management: Empower, inspire and lead a team of CQ Leads and contractors to deliver CQ services and support Commercial activities; includes conducting colleague performance reviews and growth plan discussions as applicable
- Continuously coach and develop CQ talent
- Drive risk‑based resource allocation, including optimization of CQ’s International Markets model
- Effectively manage service demand and service requests to ensure optimal allocation of available capacity
- Ensure CQ colleagues and contractors have the required skills and resources to effectively execute their responsibilities, with a strong focus on project management and AI skills and solutions
- Create a team culture where colleagues feel safe to express views and opinions, even if in contrast to others. Creates a culture of “one Pfizer”, “one CMO”
- Drive implementation of CQ policies, procedures and initiatives across the International Markets
- Provide design guidance for commercial programs to optimize the risk and benefit balance
- Consultation and guidance on matters related to the new Global Content Policy (3.0), Market Repository and local review and approval requirements and ways of working GCMA/Veeva Workflow support and expertise
- Quality Event (“QE”) facilitation and response for promotional materials and content
- Effectively manage service demand for international markets to ensure optimal allocation of available capacity
- Accountable for change management and communication within the international markets
- Act as single point of escalation and a subject‑matter expert for CQ Leads within the international markets providing in‑depth knowledge and consultancy to drive overall culture of quality and compliance, and if required elevate all pertinent initiatives to the relevant CQ stakeholders
- In collaboration with the other CQ International Markets Team Leads, proactively identify and drive implementation of opportunities that improve the alignment of resource allocation (Commercial and CQ) using data‑driven metrics e. g., Pi, GCMA/Veeva, SRT data etc.
- Drive consistent quality standards and effectiveness measures across commercial activities in line with global quality plans and quality by design guidance
- Drive awareness and upskilling of key customers e. g., Program Owners, Vendors, Approvers, Marketers and Field Force colleagues to increase understanding of CQ policies and processes and enhance quality & compliance
- Ensure quality thresholds (e. g., training compliance) are met
- Continuously provide feedback on training assets, procedures, guidance and other such CQ materials to improve effectiveness and stakeholder experiences
- Drive adoption of AI & new technologies and ways of working to enable innovation and operating efficiencies (e. g., Claude, Qenie)
- Act as single point of contact and subject‑matter expert on quality related matters for senior Commercial leaders within in‑scope markets, providing in‑depth knowledge and consultancy on commercial quality
- Ensure alignment with CMO Leaders that CQ remain embedded and aligned with business priorities
- Provide market leaders with insights and visibility of the state of control
- Establish and maintain trusted relationships across senior regional and local Commercial stakeholders and business partners (e. g., Legal, Digital, Safety, Privacy, Compliance)
- In collaboration with other regional and local stakeholders provide guidance to help the Commercial colleagues compliantly use emerging AI and digital tools and channels
- Proactively engage the global CQ community to exchange best practices and lessons learned and promote collaboration
- Ensure all international markets are audit and inspection ready for all in‑scope quality
- Direct effective management and implementation of remediation activity within international markets
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with strong experience preferably in Pharma
- Understand the fundamentals of the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory requirements and risk management
- Demonstrated extensive experience of aligning senior stakeholders and facilitating conflict resolution
- Regional and Local operating experience
- Demonstrated strategic thought leadership & ability to drive transformation
- Experience of people and line management
- Experience of working across cultures and multiple time zones
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with clients
- Fluent in English language (verbal and written)
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in CQ services and scope
- High level of subject matter expertise in PV and Promotional practices
- Extensive experience in quality and compliance
- Experience in process design and service integration
- Experience in commercial operations and/or sales & marketing
- Detail‑oriented with strong Project Management, AI & organizational skills and a proven ability to prioritize and work independently to complete quality work on a timely basis
- Strong analytical skills, ability to analyze information, draw insights and recommend improvements; ability to synthesize problems and develop innovative solutions and strategies
- Proficient in common technical & AI tools (e. g. Microsoft Office, Claude, Co‑Pilot)
