PFC Careers are working with a well known Commissioning company to recruit a Building Services Commissioning Manager on a prestigious school project in Edinburgh till 2029. The client are open to considering candidates on salary or a day rate. An immediate start is on offer. The client in question are highly regarded in their field and are known for their quality of work and the relationships they have built with their client base. This job in particular is working for a main contractor who they have been dealing with for over 25 years. Ideally you will have experience in a very similar role and be able to hit the ground running.

Duties will involve:

  • Strategy & Planning: Develop project-specific commissioning management plans, programs, and strategies aligned with project timelines.
  • Testing & Validation: Oversee equipment testing from pre-commissioning checks.
  • Design Review: Conduct constructability and 'commissionability' reviews to ensure systems can be efficiently tested and maintained.
  • Documentation: Manage the production and auditable sign-off of commissioning test scripts, checklists, and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals.
  • Stakeholder Management: Chair commissioning meetings and act as the primary liaison between contractors, design engineers, and the client.

Ideally you will have:

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical distribution, life safety systems, and building automation systems.
  • Education: Relevant qualifications in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (e.g., HNC, HND, or Bachelor's degree).
  • Certifications: Desirable knowledge of CIBSE Commissioning Codes and industry standards.
