We’re looking for Nurses, Physiotherapists, and Occupational Therapists who want to make a real difference and are ready for a change in their career in a fast‑paced, forward‑thinking environment.

After completing our unique training programme, you’ll use your healthcare skills to assess people applying for PIP or WCA benefits and write complete, clear, fair, and accurate reports as part of the Department for Work and Pensions’ Health Assessment and Advisory Service (HAAS).

Position
As a Disability Assessor, you will play a crucial role in interviewing claimants to understand the challenges they face. By completing thorough assessments and examinations via telephone, video call, or face‑to‑face, you will assess how the claimant’s disability, condition or illness impacts their functional ability on daily activities in a respectful, non‑biased and reassuring manner.
Salary: £45,500
Type: Permanent (Hybrid)
Full time: 37.5 hours (9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday)
Location: Lewes (You must be located within a 90‑minute radius of the site to be considered for this role)
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse information critically to create accurate and concise reports.
- Interpret clinical information and evidence.
- Maintain professional standards in written communication and adherence to code of conduct.
- Provide positive experiences for claimants and colleagues, meeting quality and productivity targets.
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- A minimum of 12 months of clinical experience as a qualified healthcare professional (listed below).
- An ability to demonstrate a broad clinical knowledge.
- Previous experience in using computer software including Microsoft Office.
Essentials Qualifications (without These Your Application Cannot Be Considered)
Nurses
- Qualified Nurse RGN, or RMN/RNLD
- Member of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN)
Physiotherapists / Occupational Therapists
- Qualified Chartered Physiotherapist or Qualified Occupational Therapist
- Member of the UK Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) or College of OT’s (COT)
Experience we look for
A minimum of 12 months HCPC or NMC experience.
- Orthopaedic experience (acute and elective)
- Pre‑assessment experience (surgical/orthopaedic)
- Experience working with patients with both mental health and physical problems and neurological settings.
- Broad range of experience in different areas as would have more clinical knowledge
- Worked in ITU units
