Overview (Hybrid role) (Mon - Fri from 8:30am - 5pm). Salary: Up to £41,612 pa. Type: Permanent. Full time: 40 hours. Location: Bury St. Edmunds. You MUST be located within a 90-minute radius of the site to be considered for this role.
As a Functional Assessor, you will play a crucial role in interviewing claimants to understand the challenges they face. You will carry out detailed assessments through telephone, video, or face-to-face appointments to understand how a claimant's disability, condition, or illness affects their ability to carry out everyday activities in a respectful, fair, and reassuring manner.
Responsibilities
- Assess claimants through telephone, video, or face-to-face appointments to understand how a disability, condition, or illness affects daily activities.
- Interview claimants to understand challenges they face and document findings clearly and accurately.
- Analyse information critically to create accurate and concise reports.
- Interpret clinical information and evidence.
- Maintain professional standards in written communication and adherence to code of conduct.
- Provide positive experiences for claimants and colleagues, meeting quality and productivity targets.
Qualifications
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a qualified healthcare professional.
- An ability to demonstrate a broad clinical knowledge.
- Previous experience in using computer software including Microsoft Office.
Essential Qualifications (without These Your Application Cannot Be Considered)
- Nurses: Qualified Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD only); Member of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN).
- Physios/OTs: Qualified Chartered Physiotherapist or Qualified Occupational Therapist; Member of the UK Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC); Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) or College of OT's (COT).
- Paramedics: BSc or Qualified Paramedic; Member of the UK Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
