We're looking for an experienced Workplace Technology Manager to lead our UK Workplace Technology function and shape the technology experience for our employees as we continue to grow. This is a strategic leadership role that combines people management, technology leadership, service excellence, governance and stakeholder engagement. You'll be responsible for ensuring our teams have secure, reliable and modern workplace technology services that enable collaboration, productivity and business success.
Reporting to the Technology Operations Director, you'll lead a team of internal specialists and outsourced partners while working closely with colleagues across both the UK and Australia to deliver a workplace technology roadmap aligned with our business goals.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing Workplace Technology team.
- Foster a culture of service excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Support technical growth and capability development across the team.
- Build a resilient operating model through effective workforce and succession planning.
- Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and execute the UK Workplace Technology strategy.
- Develop and manage the Workplace Technology roadmap, balancing business value, risk and operational priorities.
- Identify opportunities to improve employee experience through technology innovation.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to support future business needs.
- Service Delivery & Operational Excellence
- Oversee the delivery and continual improvement of Workplace Technology services.
- Establish and monitor service performance metrics and KPIs.
- Drive process optimisation, automation and standardisation initiatives.
- Ensure services consistently meet agreed service levels and business expectations.
- Security, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure Workplace Technology services support compliance with Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 27001, SOC 2 and internal governance frameworks.
- Partner with Security, Risk and Compliance teams on audits, assessments and remediation activities.
- Proactively identify and manage technology and operational risks.
- Stakeholder & Supplier Management
- Act as the primary UK contact for Workplace Technology services and initiatives.
- Build trusted relationships with senior leaders and business stakeholders.
- Manage strategic relationships with outsourced service providers and technology partners.
- Oversee supplier performance, service reviews and commercial discussions.
- Project & Change Delivery
- Lead Workplace Technology projects from planning through to implementation.
- Manage budgets, timelines, risks and dependencies.
- Support organisational change and drive successful adoption of new technologies and ways of working.
About You
You'll be a strategic technology leader who enjoys balancing people leadership with technology direction and operational excellence. You'll bring:
- Experience leading Workplace Technology, End User Computing, IT Service Management or similar functions.
- Proven success managing technical teams and outsourced service providers.
- Experience developing and executing technology strategies and service roadmaps.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with executive leaders.
- Experience delivering technology projects and service improvement initiatives.
- Exposure to regulated environments and supporting audit and compliance activities.
- Strong supplier and vendor management experience.
Technical Expertise
You'll have strong knowledge across modern workplace technologies, including:
- Microsoft 365
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Management
- Windows device management and deployment
- SharePoint, Slack and Zoom
- Identity and Access Management
- Endpoint security and compliance
- Mobile Device Management (MDM)
- SaaS application management
- IT Service Management (ITIL)
- Device lifecycle and asset management
Whilst this isn't a hands-on support role, you'll have the technical depth to guide architectural decisions, challenge technical approaches and provide leadership across the Workplace Technology function.
