Are you a confident and ambitious veterinary surgeon ready to take the reins and make a real impact?

About UsPetwell House Vets is a well‐established and independently owned two‐site small animal practice near Heathrow Airport, with clinics in Hayes and Feltham. Our friendly and caring team is dedicated to providing exceptional service to our lovely clients and individually tailored, compassionate care to the animals we see.

Head of Clinic and Principal Vet , David, joined the team in 2019, bringing a wealth of experience and has played a key role in the transformation of Petwell House Vets. He was appointed Director in 2022 and enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine, with a special interest in pet behaviour and exotic pets. Although he now spends much of his time behind the scenes on the business side of the practice, he is always happy to support his team and is committed to creating a positive, progressive environment where both pets and people thrive.

We are expanding our vet team and are looking for an experienced GP vet to join us. This role is perfect for a veterinary surgeon who is confident working sole charge and eager to take the next step in their career. You\’ll have the clinical freedom to work up your cases the way you see fit, with full support to pursue your interests, whether that means developing a specific area of expertise or growing the caseload in your chosen field, we\’ll back you every step of the way—including the opportunity to introduce new services that reflect your passions and enhance the care we provide. Most importantly, you\’ll become an integral part of a supportive, independent practice that\’s growing with purpose—where your voice is heard, your ideas are valued, and you can make a real difference.

If you\’re looking for more than just day‐to‐day clinical work—if you want to play a strategic role in shaping the direction of a practice—then this opportunity will give you exactly that. This is a fantastic platform to hone your leadership skills, contribute to strategic decisions, and work closely with David to drive the practice forward.

Both standalone clinics offer excellent facilities, featuring a dedicated prep area, theatre, diagnostic suite, and all the usual equipment, including digital X‐ray, ultrasound, and a full Idexx in‐house lab. We will be renovating both clinics later this year and are looking to invest in dental X‐ray soon.

The RotaWe understand the importance of work‐life balance, so our vets work a 4‐day week (9‐7) with just 1:3 Saturday mornings only (9‐12). Our out‐of‐hours is outsourced to NSVE (North Surrey Veterinary Emergencies), meaning there are no OOH or on‐call duties, and your evenings, Sundays, and bank holidays are free, giving you ample time to recharge.

Your days will include a mix of consultations and procedures. Our morning consults finish at 11.30 am and evening consults start at 4 pm, meaning there is plenty of time in between to handle the manageable procedures list, work up your cases, catch up on admin and make phone calls. Our last consult slot is at 6.30 pm, and you\’ll be out the door at 7 pm.

We Offer

A salary of £55,000 – £70,000

33 days holiday

CPD is encouraged, with certificates supported

Professional fees paid for RCVS and VDS

Both our Hayes and Feltham clinics are easily accessible and have fantastic transport links. You\’re a short trip from central London via the Elizabeth Line or National Rail, and just minutes from Heathrow—ideal for weekend getaways or international travel.

Ready to take the next exciting step in your veterinary career? We\’d love to hear from you—apply now or get in touch for an informal chat and find out if Petwell House Vets is the perfect fit for you.
