Who They Are:
Our client is a dynamic, fast-growing social housing property maintenance company with a strong and expanding national presence. Through a multi-company structure, they specialise in maintenance, compliance, and retrofit services—driving positive, lasting change across the sector. With ambitious plans for further growth, they are now seeking a skilled and strategic Management Accountant to join their team. This is a pivotal role, working closely with senior leadership and contributing to the financial success of the organisation during a period of major expansion.
The Role: What You’ll Be Doing
- Financial Accounting:
- Balance sheet control account reconciliations.
- Management of the fixed asset register.
- Oversight of subcontractor payments, CIS filings, and associated payments.
- WIP journal postings.
- Audit, submission, and processing of VAT returns on time.
- Maintenance of intercompany balance data.
- Daily sales invoicing.
- Credit card reconciliations.
- Supplier payment runs.
- Management Accounts:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Overhead allocations.
- Cost variance analysis.
- Trend analysis.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Preparation of weekly cashflow reports.
- Collaboration with AR and AP teams.
- Project Reporting:
- Production of month-end CVR project reports.
- Reporting of key variances and trends.
- Office for National Statistics:
- Provision of accurate data for ONS submissions.
- Ensuring timely reporting.
- AR & AP Support:
- Assistance to AR and AP functions as needed.
What They’re Looking For:
- Holds or working towards ACCA / CIMA or qualified to AAT level (or equivalent).
- Experience working as a Management Accountant.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical ability.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with document scanning & invoice approval software.
- CIS and WIP accounting experience.
- Experience of working with consolidated management accounts would be desirable.
