The Role:
As Bid and Proposals Manager, you will take full ownership of the end-to-end bid process, from opportunity identification through to submission and continuous improvement. You will also lead and develop a dedicated proposals team, ensuring the highest standards of quality, consistency, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bid Writing and Proposal Quality
- Leading the writing, editing, and production of high-quality tender submissions and proposals.
- Developing clear and compelling win themes aligned to client priorities.
- Translating complex technical information into persuasive and engaging content.
- Ensuring all submissions are accurate, well-structured, on brand, and delivered on time.
- Bid Management and Process
- Managing the full bid lifecycle from launch through to submission and debrief.
- Implementing robust bid processes, including launch, review, and sign-off procedures.
- Maintaining bid programmes and pipeline trackers, providing updates to senior leadership.
- Conducting post-submission reviews to drive continuous improvement.
- Team Leadership and Development
- Leading, motivating, and developing a high-performing proposals team.
- Providing coaching, mentoring, and regular feedback to support professional growth.
- Identifying skills gaps and implementing development and training plans.
- Creating a collaborative and positive team environment focused on quality and accountability.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Business Development
- Working closely with operational, commercial, and senior teams to gather bid information.
- Building strong internal relationships to ensure the proposals function is well supported.
- Supporting pre-qualification submissions and expressions of interest.

What We're Looking For:
- Essential
- Proven experience in a bid writing or proposals management role.
- Strong background within construction, property services, or a related sector.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce compelling submissions.
- Experience developing win themes and client-focused bid strategies.
- Previous experience leading and developing a team.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and providing constructive challenge.
- Desirable
- APMP qualification or equivalent.
- Experience working with public sector frameworks and tendering processes.
- Familiarity with PQQs and formal procurement routes such as Find a Tender.
- Experience improving bid systems, processes, or content libraries.
