Night Shift 10:00am - 6:00am. Shift-based Reactive & Preventative Maintenance to facilitate effective & efficient continuity of product supply.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technical lead on shift, dotted line report to shift supervisor, responsible for ensuring that the plant, its operations and operators are safe, manufacturing quality product in an efficient and productive manner maximising equipment throughput.
- Strong awareness of technical health & safety hazards e.g. electricity at work, working at height, isolation of energy sources etc. – Able to risk assess and implement mitigation and control actions.
- Competence in root-cause fault-finding with resourceful short-term resolution and a drive to implement long-term ‘100yr fixes’.
- Reviews production targets & priorities and balances workload accordingly.
- Supports production line change-overs and trains & coaches operations team.
- Competent in the completion of tests and inspections to ensure effective plant operation and legislative compliance.
- Ensures effective communication between the shift engineers, day engineering team and management to ensure that information is accurately recorded and circulated as required.
- Undertakes routine maintenance & greasing on all relevant pieces of equipment.
- Highlights any potential plant & equipment deterioration / preventative maintenance prior to equipment failure.
- Complete daily shift log outlining work completion & outstanding actions.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Apprentice trained engineer.
- Experienced shift engineer in a high-volume continuous production manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical capability with mechanical engineering pedigree (familiar with pneumatic, hydraulic & mechanical systems) with basic level of competence in electrical systems and control.
- High competence in workshop skills.
- Ability to work at height (IPAF trained).
- Promotes safe working, ability to risk assess activities to consider the safety of themselves and those around them.
