We’re looking for a Commercial Finance Analyst to support all aspects of commercial decision making, by delivering effective and timely financial insight, challenge and reporting to help maximise sales, profit and ROI and control costs. Building relationships with various stakeholders across the business, raising commercial awareness. Use data and research to form pricing strategies, improving profitability across the business.
Duties include:
- Reporting to the Head of Finance and supporting in all aspects of financial decision making by becoming involved in commercial planning and performance analysis to ensure the delivery of financial targets.
- Work closely with the Sales and Operations teams to review, understand and develop financial proposals which reflect customer requirements, whilst identifying the most competitive pricing.
- Develop and analyse sales and marketing reports and suggest strategies for improving business performance.
- Analyse promotional activities to ensure the funds invested are achieving optimal results.
- Provide sound financial appraisals of projects or investments, communicating financial benefits or outcomes in a clear and concise manner.
- Assist in the budgeting process, gaining input from the relevant stakeholders whilst ensuring the budget is aligned with the wider business agenda.
- Provide the necessary challenge to ensure the robustness of any reports created.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a financial or analytical role
- Highly numerate and analytical
- Experience working with large data sets
- Able to spot trends, problem solve and find solutions using data
- High level of attention to detail and a passion for accuracy
- Strong communication skills and able to interact with and influence audiences from varying financial and commercial backgrounds
- Strong commercial acumen
- A self-starter who can work independently, spotting the areas to focus on
- Advanced Excel and IT skills
- Awareness of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience of Cost Accounting
- Experience gained from a FMCG manufacturing environment
- CIMA/ACA/ACCA Qualified
- Experience with analytical tools such as Power BI
