About the Role

We’re on the lookout for a talented Space Planner to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Space Planning Manager, you’ll play a key role in designing efficient and innovative layouts for new and existing stores and vet practices. This is your chance to support our ambitious refurbishment programme and create seamless customer journeys that maximise space, profitability and customer satisfaction. If you’re passionate about store design, thrive under tight deadlines and have an eye for detail, we’d love to hear from you! This role offers hybrid working from our Support Office in Handforth, Cheshire (two days per week in the office).

What You’ll Do:

  • Design store and vet practice layouts that optimise space utilisation while complying with planning regulations.
  • Create innovative layouts that enhance customer journeys, improve ease of shopping and highlight strategic priorities.
  • Produce dimensionally accurate CAD drawings for competitive tendering and ensure layouts align with business goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver fully aligned projects, incorporating new design features when required.
  • Maintain accurate layout plans and manage updates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Visit sites regularly to oversee design implementation and align with veterinary partners.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven Experience: Considerable experience of space planning, ideally in a retail environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and space planning/merchandising software.
  • Collaborative: Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to build relationships across teams.
  • Organised: Exceptional time management and ability to juggle multiple overlapping projects.
  • Detail-Oriented: A meticulous approach to design and planning. Knowledge of store refurbishment programmes, space data and layout milestones is an advantage.
