About the Role
This role forms part of the Group Reporting & FP&A team who are responsible for period end accounting, analysis, and reporting of the Vet Group support office and Managed Estates. The team are responsible for fee calculations for the Vet practices, journal entries, consolidation, and balance sheet reconciliation. The reporting includes reporting to the Investment Committee and PAH Board.
Key Responsibilities
- Period end close
- Process of journals entries in SAP
- Fees charged to Joint Ventures (JV’s), working closely with Finance Systems on changes
- Supplier Income analysis and accrual; liaise with supplier relations team
- Shareholder loan interest calculation
- Depreciation and amortisation process and reconciliation to Fixed & Intangible assets
- Period end payroll
- Reconcile SAP reports to payroll team
- Process any manual reallocations
- Allocate Guernsey & Isle of Man payroll journals
- Prepare periodic reconciliation for pension, tax & NI, and wages control
- Follow up and resolve unreconciled items with payroll teams
- Net Cash Transfer
- Partner with Treasury and Finance Systems to complete the Net Cash Transfer to/from Vet Practices
- Like For Likes (LFL’s) calculation and reporting
- Preparation of LFL reporting on a periodic basis
- Review with the Head of Group Reporting & FP&A
- Provide reasons for material changes in the LFLs YoY
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations for the support office
- Identify and correct discrepancies
- Follow up and resolve unreconciled items
- Acquisitions and conversions
- Support with the accounting for acquisitions (JV to Managed Estate)
- Support with conversions / disposals (Managed Estate to JV)
- Reporting
- Preparation of bank reporting for external bank loan covenants
- Investment Committee reporting of Operating Loans
- Quarter data packs for PAH and ad hoc Board Pack slides
- Financial Accountability
- Accuracy & completeness of financial information
About You
Educational Qualifications – Essential
- Accountancy qualifications newly or part qualified
- Knowledge of accounting principles
- Experience in core accounting processes, reporting, and reconciliations
- Business acumen and commercial awareness
- Strong Excel skills
- SAP or other financial software experience
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver within reporting timelines
Experience, Knowledge & Expertise – Desirable
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar Group Accounting & Reporting role
- Interaction and involvement with auditors
