Whitstable Vets for Pets is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic Client Communication Advisor to join our friendly reception team! This is a fantastic opportunity to become an important part of our practice, where teamwork truly matters. We pride ourselves on supporting one another, stepping in when needed and ensuring our clients both furry and human receive the highest level of care. We value flexibility and we're looking for someone who can confidently help cover holidays and sickness alongside their scheduled hours, occasionally at short notice to keep our service running smoothly.
About the Role
- Greeting clients with a smile and welcoming pets as they arrive.
- Answering, screening and directing telephone calls with confidence.
- Managing bookings for veterinary and nursing appointments.
- Taking deposits and payments for treatments and medications.
- Keeping the reception area tidy, organised and stocked with essential materials.
- Providing accurate information in-person, by phone and via email.
- Sorting and distributing daily post and deliveries.
- Maintaining practice security and following reception safety procedures.
- Updating diaries and managing appointment schedules.
- Completing clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, and printing.
- Processing end-of-day banking.
- Setting up client care plans.
Qualifications
- Providing positivity, professionalism and a genuine commitment to outstanding client care.
- Proven experience as a receptionist or in a customer-facing role.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- A strong team player who supports colleagues and embraces teamwork.
- Confidence around animals (and happy to gently hold them if needed!).
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic office equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Impeccable organisation, multitasking and time-management abilities.
- A proactive attitude with great initiative and problem-solving skills.
- A professional, friendly appearance and manner.
- Flexibility with working hours and willingness to help cover holiday/sickness.
- Availability to work at least one Saturday per month with additional Saturdays as needed.
