At Rayleigh Vets for Pets, we’re looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our close-knit and experienced team. We’re open to full-time or part-time hours, with flexibility around your working pattern.
The Role
You’ll be joining a highly experienced and supportive team, including:
- 1 Head Veterinary Surgeon
- 2 Veterinary Surgeons
- 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses
- 1 Student Veterinary Nurse
- 4 Veterinary Care Assistants
- A dedicated Client Care team
We’re looking for a vet who is confident with routine medical and surgical cases and comfortable working in sole charge when required.
For a full-time position, our weekend rota is 1 in 4 weekends, with Saturday shifts from 9am-5pm and Sunday shifts from 10am-4pm. There are no on-call, bank holiday or OOH requirements.
We’re happy to discuss flexible working options, including part-time hours, to find a pattern that works for you.

Rayleigh Vets for Pets is a standalone, purpose-built practice equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, a loyal and growing client base, and a diverse and interesting caseload.
You’ll be joining an experienced and supportive team, led by our Head Veterinary Surgeon, where clinical development is encouraged alongside genuine clinical freedom. We’re committed to maintaining high standards of patient and client care while creating an environment where our team can thrive.

Rayleigh is a historic market town situated between Chelmsford and Southend-on-Sea, just 32 miles east of central London.
The practice is within easy walking distance of both the high street and Rayleigh train station, with direct trains to London Liverpool Street taking around 40 minutes. There’s also plenty of free parking nearby and the practice is located on a main bus route.
With excellent transport links, easy access to London’s international airports and shopping destinations including Bluewater and Lakeside, there’s plenty to enjoy outside of work.
And when you want to escape the hustle and bustle, the beautiful Essex coastline and surrounding open spaces are right on your doorstep.
