As a Veterinary Receptionist, you'll be an important part of our client care team, creating a warm, welcoming and professional experience for every client and patient who walks through our doors., You'll be responsible for:
Responsibilities
- Providing exceptional customer service and building strong client relationships
- Managing appointments, enquiries and client communications
- Supporting the veterinary team with day-to-day administrative tasks
- Processing payments and maintaining accurate client records
- Helping to ensure the smooth running of reception and front-of-house services
- Working collaboratively with the wider practice
Requirements
- Ideally, you'll have previous experience working in a veterinary reception role, but this isn't essential as full training will be provided. We're looking for someone who is friendly, organised, compassionate and passionate about delivering excellent client care.
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills
- Is compassionate and understands the importance of providing outstanding client and patient care
- Enjoys working as part of a close-knit team
Practice Facilities & Environment
- 4 consultation rooms, including a shared X-ray room
- Separate dog and cat waiting areas
- Dedicated prep area and operating theatre
- Dentistry suite
- In-house laboratory, with digital X-ray and ultrasound planned
- 8 cat kennels, 8 dog kennels and 2 walk-in kennels
- Separate isolation ward
- Spacious colleague area with shower facilities
- Free parking and secure bike storage
- We'll also have the capacity to welcome visiting specialists, allowing us to provide more advanced care in-house. Our Practice Owner, Rebecca, graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2014 and brings extensive experience from both private practice and a busy PDSA hospital. She also holds a Certificate in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care, supporting the practice in delivering excellent patient care. Outside of veterinary practice, Rebecca is an on-call firefighter, bringing strong teamwork, resilience and community spirit to the team.
Hours, Salary, and Start Date
- This is a part-time position working 26 hours per week, consisting of 6-hour shifts across 4 weekdays, working either:
- 8:30am - 2:30pm, or
- 12:30pm - 6:30pm
- Plus, every other Saturday, 8:30am - 12:30pm. The salary will be in line with National Minimum Wage. Start date: 12th October 2026 - this date is non-negotiable.
