We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Pets 1st in Egham, Surrey. This is a fixed‑term, 12‑month position. We are looking for someone who is compassionate, proactive, adaptable and will thrive in a busy hospital environment.

This role is ideal for a clinician ready to take on more responsibility, support junior members of the team, and continue developing their own skills in a well‑established practice. We have a longstanding team with a wealth of knowledge who put pet care at the heart of everything we do, with 4 vets supported by 6 RVNs and 2 SVNs and a clinical coach and a full reception team. Our nurses are highly experienced with multiple certificates between them; they are a huge support to the veterinary team.

You will have clinical freedom with a varied caseload, and opportunities to specialise – whether that’s studying for a certificate, offering specialist services, or advancing your surgical expertise. Our vets work a 4‑day working week. Saturdays (8am‑2pm) are equally shared. This equates to a 40‑hour working week. No OOH, bank holidays or Sundays.
