We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Pets 1st in Egham, Surrey. This role is ideal for a clinician ready to take on more responsibility, support junior members of the team, and continue developing their own skills in a well‑established practice. We have a longstanding team with a wealth of knowledge who put pet care at the heart of everything we do, with 4 vets supported by 6 RVN’s and 2 SVN’s, a clinical coach and a full reception team.
Responsibilities & Expectations
- Clinical freedom with a varied caseload
- Opportunities to specialise – e.g. certificate studies, specialist services, surgical expertise
- Support junior team members and clinical coaching
- Participate in structured ward rounds each day
- Communicate confidently and collaborate within the team to help our patients
- Take on more responsibility and continue developing your own skills in a well‑established practice
Work Hours
Our vets work a 4‑day week (40 hours): 8‑hour, 9‑hour and two 10.5‑hour shifts. Saturdays 8 am‑2 pm are equally shared. No out‑of‑hours, bank holiday or Sunday work.

Separate dog and cat wards and waiting areas. Three consult rooms, ICU, theatre, dental X‑ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, full in‑house lab.
