We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller , this role is ideal for a recently qualified accountant with experience who is looking to take the next step in their career.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the financial reporting process and will also support and mentor a small team of Accounts Assistants.
Key Responsibilities
As Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting the month‑end close process.
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Supporting the year‑end audit process, including preparation of audit schedules, and liaising with external auditors.
- Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts and tax filings (VAT, Corporation Tax).
- Supporting the consolidation of group accounts and working with multiple currencies.
- Contributing to treasury management activities.
- Mentoring and supporting a small team of Accounts Assistants, providing guidance, and reviewing their work.
- Participating in process improvement initiatives and supporting wider finance projects as required.
Qualifications
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring
- A recognised accounting qualification (e. g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Experience in a similar financial accounting role.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems.
- A proactive, hands‑on approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
