Petroineos comprises trading and refining joint ventures between PetroChina International (London) Company Limited and INEOS. Established in 2011, Petroineos is one of Europe’s leading International Integrated Energy Trading Companies. In addition to third-party trading, Petroineos Trading's key functions include the supply of Crude Oil to Petroineos and PetroChina refineries and the arrangement of the sale and distribution of the various products that are produced from the refineries. Products traded by Petroineos include both Crude Oil and Refined Oil Products.
Reporting to the Accounting and Reporting Manager, the Senior Analyst will play a crucial role in the success of the Finance function. This is an initial 12-Month fixed term contract.
Responsibilities- Prepare the monthly gross margin result for the Crude Oil, Refined Products, Petrochemicals and Biofuels businesses in accordance with IFRS 9, IFRS 13, IFRS 15 and IAS2.
- Co-work with Financial Control and Product Control team to prepare the monthly Accounts submissions for the above businesses, taking into account the FinControl identified differences between the Finance P&L (MA) and the Risk P&L (MI), and ensuring the correct accounting outcome.
- Facilitate the preparation of the monthly broker exchange reconciliations for the Petroineos Trading Limited entity and liaise with Derivative operations on differences between ledger balance and exchange balance.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for the Petroineos Trading Limited entity and follow up with relevant teams on outstanding actions.
- Provide support on all aspects of the company’s external year-end audit and interim audit.
- Take the lead on the preparation of Petroineos Trading Limited annual statutory report and statutory audit.
- Participate in IT projects to automate the month-end reporting processes.
- Perform other analysis, ad hoc projects and duties as needed.
- Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent.
- Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent.
- Strong trading accounting skills.
- Relevant demonstrable experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Proficient in SAP skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel (prepare complex formulas and use of macros).
- Knowledge of Openlink Endur and Plan Logic EOS trading systems would be highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Enthusiastic and proactive.
Due to Month-End deadlines, the successful candidate may be required to work extended hours during the first week of each month. The successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK by the start of their employment.
