CB&I is seeking a Technical Safety Engineer 3 – Contractor for 12 months based in Aberdeen, UK.
The role is outside IR35 and we invite Limited Companies to engage.
The scope of services will be reviewed should there be a significant change to client support requirements.
Scope of Work
- Provide engineering input to estimates for project work scopes
- Provide input to progress and planning meetings
- Participate in and facilitate various engineering review meetings such as HAZOP, LOPA, HAZID, etc.
- Assist in updates for the operational safety case and support/defend them to peers and client
- Evacuation Escape and Rescue Analysis (EERA)
- Temporary Refuge Impairment Analysis (TRIA)
- Smoke and Gas Ingress Analysis (SGIA)
- Essential Systems Vulnerability Analysis (ESVA)
- Dispersion modelling/analysis, thermal radiation, gas plume analysis
- Provide technical expertise to the resolution of technical queries ensuring that all design changes are captured by the change control process
- Conduct site surveys on offshore or onshore assets
- Produce calculations required for the role and participate in design reviews
- Production of discipline documentation deliverables for inclusion in work packs
- Conduct As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) demonstrations, Active and Passive Fire Protection development and Hazardous Area Classification for work scopes that contribute to a safety case material change
- Compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international and client codes and standards
- Ensure that all work complies with the Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures in line with industry standards
- Checking of engineering deliverables originated by others
- Provide technical expertise to contribute to the production of discipline specific engineering deliverables including
- Safety Screening Document
- HAZOP/HAZID closeout report
- Safety Concerns Register
- Thorough review for Safety Case
- Material change for Safety Case
- Reliability studies
- Safety critical element reviews
- Performance standard production
- Safety philosophy documents
- Active and passive fire protection analysis
- Hazardous area drawings
