JOB TITLE: INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN
FPF1 – Ithaca – 2/3 rota on 8-month fixed term contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring all instrument systems including telecoms, Emergency Shutdown, Fire & Gas detection/protection systems are maintained for maximum reliability and availability.
- Diagnoses and rectifies faults to ensure maximum equipment availability.
- Able to carry out, or have an appreciation of, basic telecoms and satellite TV system maintenance.
- Implements the scheduled maintenance programme incorporating all instrumentation electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic plant and equipment.
- Maintains all instrumentation drawings in ‘as-built’ condition to reflect any modifications.
- Installs and commissions new equipment as directed
- Maintain comprehensive hand over logs.
- Assist as required, other trades and disciplines within the limits of capabilities and experience.
- Ensure the emergency shutdown, fire and gas detection/protection systems are maintained in a state readiness to respond to any plant malfunction or incident offshore.
- Ensure areas that have been isolated from the fire and gas system for maintenance work are constantly monitored. Ensure areas are reinstated as soon as work is complete and work permits are cleared.

- SBT01 / 02 Required, TSBT01, TSBT02 & TSBT03 Desirable
- SAP Familiarity desirable
- Familiarity working with Siemens and Solar gas turbines as well as Bentley Nevada condition monitoring systems desirable.
- Offshore BOSIET & Offshore MIST Required
- Offshore first aid or emergency response team training desirable.

Essential Qualifications And Skills
- Educated to HNC Standard in Instrumentation/Control Systems & successfully completed a recognised apprentice scheme or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Good knowledge of Automated Control, Fire and Gas, Telecoms, & ESD systems.
