Job Title: Deck Foreman / LOFER Focal Point

NEO – GP3 – 2/3 rota on 18-month fixed-term contract

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervising the deck crew to efficiently deliver the required marine services on a daily basis.
  2. Commitment to incident-free operations.
  3. Supporting a working environment based on respect for health, safety, and environmental issues, and maintaining a high level of asset integrity.
  4. Building effective working relationships with other departments and shifts.
  5. Carrying out helicopter landing officer duties, including refuelling, baggage/freight handling, and safe boarding/disembarkation of personnel.
  6. Coordinating supply boat operations, including all deck cargo handling/storing.
  7. Managing connection and disconnection of Shuttle Tanker mooring and cargo transfer arrangements (FPSO’s only).
  8. Ensuring general housekeeping and cleanliness of the responsible area.
  9. Coordinating and assisting with all rigging and lifting operations as per company procedures.
  10. Maintaining rigging loft in good order.
  11. Carrying out and assisting in marine assurance, planned, and corrective maintenance routines.
  12. Supervising, coaching, and supporting direct reports professionally.
  13. Reporting defects in practices and equipment to relevant staff.
  14. Maintaining accurate records as required.
  15. Executing duties as specified in station/bill/emergency response procedures or as directed by the OIM.
  16. Encouraging good, open communication, promoting involvement, participation, and adherence to company values.
  17. Complying with company procedures and ensuring comprehensive handovers.
  18. Undertaking training and assessments required for the role per the Competence Assurance System.
  19. Carrying out emergency towing drills and performing tasks as required.
  20. Coordinating and executing general deck, helicopter, shuttle tanker, and supply boat support.
  21. Making decisions within the delegation of authority.
  22. Ensuring health, safety, and welfare of crew and environmental areas related to the position.
  23. Supporting all departments with lifting and rigging operations safely and efficiently.
  24. Assisting with loading and offloading supply vessels, including sling and banksman duties.
  25. Carrying out helideck duties as HDA/HLO and as part of the helideck fire team.
  26. Participating in emergency response duties as defined by NEO Energy’s procedures.
  27. Acting as Rigging Loft Coordinator and Lifting Coordinator under LOLER regulations.
  28. Maintaining portable lifting equipment and ensuring platform compliance with LOLER regs.
  29. Creating and approving lift plans as required.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • OPITO approved Banksman Slinger Level 4 and Rigging and Lifting Level 4.
  • OPITO recognized HLO certification.
  • Relevant S/NVQ Deck Operations Level 2 qualification.
  • LOLER Competent person assessment.
  • Rigging Loft Management & Lifting Equipment Inspection.
  • HLO Certification (desirable).
  • Restricted VHF and CAA radio certificate.
  • Dangerous Goods by Air & Sea certification.
  • Vendor management experience.

Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of crane and deck operations, standards, processes, and legislation.
  • Experience in scheduling, organizing, coordinating, and monitoring work.
  • Experience with “Safe Systems of Work” (PTW) and permit procedures.
  • Offshore operations, tanker offloads, crane operations, or merchant navy background.
  • Supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and ability to present technical issues clearly.
  • Risk management skills.
  • Action-oriented, results-driven, and inspiring leadership qualities.
