This is a Paye Contract role for 12 Months.
Key Responsibilities- Reporting to the Commercial Lead, the Contracts Engineer will manage allocated contract activities related to Well Engineering and Projects operations in the support of tenders and existing client contract management.
- In a busy and stimulating operational environment the Contracts Engineer is required to work on own initiative dealing directly with all key business stakeholders to execute required contract documentation in line with Petrofac best practice.
- The Contracts Engineer will be required to work with the technical and functional specialists to review, draft, negotiate and finalise contractual documentation where Petrofac are providing services to its Clients.
- Manage all contract administration, including but not limited to; ensuring all contractual documentation is live and in place; managing the contracts database; monitoring of call offs/ work orders/ POs.
- Review contract and subcontract terms and conditions associated with tenders and draft qualifications in line with Contract Protocol and Petrofac best practice as appropriate.
- Engage with Service line leaders and Bid managers to align proposed qualifications with Scope of work.
- Liaise with Group legal to seek advice and guidance on protocol issues or legal jurisdictions.
- Where appropriate liaise with Group functions tax, insurance and compliance to obtain their input into tender submissions.
- Work with the Services lines to negotiate contract terms with client(s) and supplier(s) in line with Contract Protocol / Petrofac Best Practice or prepare justification for exceptions for senior management approval.
- Ensure any agreed contractual position is approved in line with the Delegation of Authority Matrix.
- Ensure through liaison with Supply Chain that where appropriate the sub-contract terms are drafted to ensure full back to back coverage.
- Prepare Contractual sections of tender approval paperwork (contract RRC and GRRC paperwork) in support of tender opportunities across service lines.
- Maintain adherence to strong contracting processes and procedures while working.
- Gain a full understanding of company procedures and processes and follow these principles in all aspects of the role.
- Ensure strict confidentiality of all allocated contracts and bid processes.
- Provide contract advice and support to business development activities.
- Work with Commercial Lead to promote consistency of approach and the adoption of best-practice throughout all regions.
- Assist in the resolution of contractual claims and disputes.
- Legal or QS degree.
- Knowledge and experience of contract terms across Asset Solutions West service lines including but not limited to: drilling/well management, OPEX and CAPEX specialist & construction.
- Experience reviewing contracts.
- Experience in contract administration.
- Ability to work independently and have excellent communication, listening and presentation skills.
- Self starter with the ability to work under own initiative and meet tight deadlines.
- Prioritize work to ensure tight deadlines are met.
- Proven negotiations skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders.
- Experience in a similar role.
