Based in our London, Charing Cross office, you will report directly to the Senior LPG Trader, with a dotted line into the General Manager of Petrochemicals, and will collaboratively support the day‑to‑day operations of the global LPG trading book. You will be involved across exposure management, hedging, market analysis, trade execution, and systems integrity, with the opportunity to contribute significantly to the development of systems and processes on the desk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage LPG cargo operations from trade execution to final settlement, ensuring smooth and timely execution.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of trades, including confirmations, settlements, and allocations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, shipowners, terminals, inspectors, and agents for vessel nominations, scheduling, and cargo operations.
  • Monitor voyage progress, laytime, and discharge operations, ensuring optimal execution.
  • Liaise with storage terminals where applicable.
  • Prepare, review, and manage all trade‑related documentation, including contracts, invoices, bills of lading, certificates, and letters of credit (L/C).
  • Ensure all documents are accurate, compliant, and aligned with contractual terms.
  • Verify and control all operational costs, including freight, demurrage, inspection, additives, insurance, and losses/gains.
  • Identify and minimize profit leakage, ensuring trades are executed in line with commercial expectations.
  • Support traders by providing timely cost estimates and post‑deal analysis.
  • Identify operational risks and proactively resolve issues during execution.
  • Handle or support claims management (e.g., demurrage, quality/quantity disputes, delays).
  • Work closely with traders, risk control, trade finance, and accounting teams to ensure seamless trade execution.
  • Collaborate closely with headquarters in Beijing and other global offices to ensure smooth and efficient execution of international trading activities.
  • Ensure all trades are accurately and timely recorded in the trading system, maintaining accurate records of each cargo including prompt and accurate filing.
  • Provide operational insights on freight, logistics constraints, and regional infrastructure to support trading decisions.
  • Assist traders in optimizing trade structures and logistics flows.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain high standards in HSE and operational risk management.
  • Be available for after‑hours and weekend work when required to support global trading activities.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree or above (preferably in Logistics, Shipping, International Trade, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related fields).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in operations within LPG/oil & gas trading; Shipping/logistics/commodity trading environment.
  • Hands‑on experience in LPG or gas products is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of commodity trading lifecycle and marine logistics.
  • Solid knowledge of LPG shipping, terminals, and operational practices.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, capable of handling multiple cargoes simultaneously.
  • Good commercial awareness, with understanding of cost structures and P&L impact.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, able to manage complex operational issues independently.
  • Effective communication skills, able to coordinate with multiple stakeholders globally.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work in a fast‑paced trading environment.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
