The Settlements Analyst is responsible for the invoicing and settlement of LNG, Gas, Power, Emissions, and FX transactions. Raising invoices from the ETRM trading systems into SAP, ensuring payments are made on time and accurately allocated, are key elements of the role. The role requires strong teamwork and interpersonal skills due to regular interaction with a wide range of stakeholders. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are also essential. This is a 12-month FTC position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage physical trade invoicing and settlement in line with industry Master Agreement standards and definitions.
  • Confirm pricing with counterparties and issue both provisional and final sales invoices.
  • Ensure settlement timelines align with payment due dates outlined in Master Agreements.
  • Oversee timely receipt and payment of funds, liaising with Treasury, Compliance, and Front Office, and escalating or resolving issues as required.
  • Process secondary costs for Gas, Power, and LNG, including transportation, LNG inspections, and brokerage fees.
  • Ensure brokerage charges are accurately reflected in ETRM systems and that all invoicing is current.
  • Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts for Treasury, covering physical purchase and sale activity.
  • Manage spot physical exchange trade validation for Power and Gas.
  • Run the OTC margining process via Credit Cube, requiring a solid understanding of margining principles.
  • Collaborate closely with Legal, providing settlement input and review for Master Agreements and structured contracts.
  • Build strong working relationships with traders, operators, and wider business teams to resolve disputes and ensure accurate, timely settlement.
  • Proactively investigate and resolve third-party settlement disputes.
  • Support month-end close activities in partnership with Accounting.
  • Contribute to IT change initiatives and projects by identifying process improvements and raising system enhancement requests.
  • Support counterparty setup in ETRM systems, ensuring all required controls and governance standards are met.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Minimum: A level or Accounting vocational qualification.
  • Proven relevant experience, with thorough understanding of the settlement process and industry related compliance requirements.
  • Settlement experience in LNG, Power and Gas is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and trading/accounting system (SAP experience definitely is a plus).
  • Excellent team working and networking skills.
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, positive and proactive.
