Job Elements:
- To ensure efficient production through maintenance of assets, assured technical capabilities and compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Ensure products are produced exactly as intended and are free of defects.
- Perform equipment setup, operation, equipment adjustments and minor preventative maintenance tasks to meet all standards for safety, quality and efficiency.
- Setting up and operating different machines, running and monitoring the output of machine tools, a highly automated manufacturing cell or process.
- Working on or monitoring the output of an assembly station.
- Monitor and check the product quality as they will be responsible for identifying when the process is deviating from the norm and acting to correct it.
- Maintain accurate and clear documentation that proves that manufacturing is being carried out in accordance with both internal and external quality systems or regulations.
- Keep equipment in good working order by performing regular inspection, cleaning, servicing along with routine and preventative maintenance to make sure the machine or process never breaks down.
- Keep maintenance logs for all the machines or process they oversee, which requires proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste in the production process.
- Identify and debug problems in processes, products, equipment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A time served engineer with minimum HNC/HND qualification in an Engineering discipline is essential.
- Experience of working within a fast moving manufacturing environment within a maintenance role.
- Excellent trouble-shooter with the ability to resolve problems effectively and within a cost effective manner.
- Confident decision maker who understands the commercial implications of decisions.
