Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our weekend team at PetMedics for an ECC role. We have both twilight shifts (4pm – 12am) and day shifts (9am-5:30pm or 11am-7:30pm) available.
What we are looking for:
- An experienced (2 years +) veterinary surgeon, ECC experience preferable but not essential, as mentoring can be provided
- Excellent communication skills and time management in the emergency setting
- Can be consult only, as vets with surgical bias on shift to take patients to theatre if preferred
- Regular weekend rota (i.e. 1 weekend every 2-8 weeks considered), so can work around a job elsewhere
- No sole charge; there are always 2-4 other vets on shift with you, depending on the time of day.
Who are we?
PetMedics is a large 24-hour veterinary hospital, staffed by a truly superb clinical team of 33 veterinary surgeons, 40 nurses and PCAs, all committed and able to offer the best possible level of care to our patients.
Our facilities include – 4 theatres, 6 consulting rooms, a dedicated ICU, onsite CT scanner, digital x-ray, 3x ultrasound machines, endoscopy, laparoscopy, mechanical ventilation, and in-house laboratory.
You will have the support of our very experienced veterinary team, with Certificate holders in: ECC, surgery, medicine, imaging, dermatology, dentistry, ophthalmology, cardiology and clinical pathology.
