PetMedics Worsley Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon with a strong interest in dermatology, or a Certificate Holder / Advanced Practitioner in Dermatology, to join our established and growing dermatology service. This role is designed as 9‑18 hours per week (1‑2 days) of pure dermatology, making it an excellent opportunity for clinicians wishing to:
- Focus specifically on dermatology
- Pursue or complete a dermatology certificate
- Balance this role alongside another position elsewhere
We are fully supportive of candidates holding external roles, and there is no first opinion requirement within the dermatology hours. Should a candidate wish to increase hours in the future, additional shifts up to full‑time equivalent may be available by discussion only.
The Role
- Pure dermatology caseload
- Supported by a dedicated dermatology nurse
- Opportunity to help shape and develop the dermatology service
- Optional handover/overlap with our current dermatologist for continuity
Our current dermatologist is a regretted leaver due to personal circumstances, and candidates may request a confidential conversation with her about the role and hospital if helpful. Should you wish to have more than the stipulated dermatology specific hours then there is the option to look at additional shifts in other areas of the practice (e.g., first opinion, ECC, hospital, another discipline, weekend shifts etc).
About You
- Essential: MRCVS Dermatology experience or a clear, demonstrable interest (including studying towards a certificate)
- Desirable: Certificate in Veterinary Dermatology or equivalent experience
