Pet Medics have a new opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their highly skilled teams! You will primarily be based at Walkden and Worsley with occasional cover at the Salford branch. Why us? PetMedics is a thriving, multi-site veterinary group made up of a state-of-the-art 24-hour hospital, a fully refurbished first-opinion practice, and a dedicated consulting branch. The team consists of 37 veterinary surgeons, many of whom are already Certificate Holders or working toward certification. They are supported by an exceptional group of Certificate-holding RVNs, patient care assistants, and receptionists who all share the same commitment to delivering outstanding patient care.
You will work with a friendly, supportive team and have access to excellent clinical facilities, including digital x-ray, ultrasound, and an on-site laboratory. Additionally, you'll benefit from our 24-hour hospital and certificate-led referral team based in Worsley, which offers specialist support for more complex cases. Case continuity is a priority, with the opportunity and expectation to manage cases from start to finish.
The hospital is equipped with modern, advanced facilities. These include four operating theatres, six consulting rooms, and a dedicated intensive care unit. The site also offers a permanent CT scanner, digital X-ray, a suite of three ultrasound machines, endoscopy and laparoscopy capabilities, mechanical ventilation, and a fully operational in-house laboratory with video microscopy. With 24-hour hospitalisation available, patients receive continuous and attentive care throughout their stay. A dedicated referrals administrator is also on hand to ensure seamless support for both clients and clinicians.
PetMedics is proud to hold Gold Cat Friendly Clinic status, along with Silver awards for being rabbit friendly and dog friendly. You will be joining a highly experienced and diverse clinical team that includes Certificate holders in emergency and critical care, surgery, medicine, imaging, dermatology, dentistry, ophthalmology, cardiology, and clinical pathology. The wider hospital provides round-the-clock veterinary and nursing coverage, including multiple ECC Certificate holders, and nurses with advanced diplomas in ECC, anaesthesia and surgery, medicine, and nutrition.
About you: We are seeking a GP Veterinary Surgeon to join our fun, friendly and supportive teams. There is the scope for candidates interested specifically in behaviour, reproduction and or ECC. We can look to incorporate this into the role. You will be:

Rota: We are very flexible when it comes to shift patterns so please feel free to discuss this with us! We can accommodate 1-4 days per week with ideally 1 in 4 weekends. Saturday and Sunday 8-hour shifts. We are based in Walkden and Worsley, Manchester, commutable from various locations in the Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire and Merseyside areas.
