About PetlabCo
PetLab Co. is the world leader in the DTC pet supplement market with 50%+ market share, 9-figure revenue, profitable and rapidly growing globally. We're looking for a hands-on UK based junior paid social media buyer to join our acquisition team and grow with us.
This is an opportunity for someone with 1 to 2 years of paid social experience to step into a fast-moving, data-driven environment where you'll get hands-on responsibility from day one. You'll run campaign setup, day-to-day management, and reporting across Meta and TikTok, with senior support and a clear path to growing into budget ownership and optimisation as you develop.
If you love getting into the platform, watching numbers move, and learning fast, and…
- You're naturally analytical and curious about why ads work or don't,
- You're keen to develop your eye for direct response video creative,
- You enjoy turning data into clear, actionable summaries,
- You're organised, deadline-driven, and comfortable juggling multiple campaigns,
- You're hungry to learn from senior buyers and grow into a fully-fledged paid social specialist.
Who Will You Report Into?
You'll report directly into our Head of Media and work day to day alongside our senior buyer and the wider acquisition function.
We started PetLab Co. in November 2018 to offer safe, effective nutritional supplements to help pets live their healthiest lives. Since then, we've become the fastest growing pet health brand in the U.S., and in the last 12 months we've more than doubled our UK net revenue. We have ambitions to do the same again, and that's where you come in.
We've established ourselves in the UK by following the media buying and creative optimisation playbook that drove our US growth. Now we need a dedicated junior pair of hands to help us execute, iterate, and capture the opportunities in front of us. You'll learn the PetLab approach inside out, with day-to-day mentorship from senior buyers, and exposure to our creative, analytics, and CRO teams.
What's the Ideal Candidate's Background?
We're looking for someone with foundational paid social experience who is ready to step up. You don't need to have run six-figure monthly budgets or owned a full P&L yet. What we care about is that you're sharp, organised, hungry to learn, and excited by performance marketing.
You'll start by owning campaign setup, daily monitoring, and reporting under senior guidance. As you build trust and demonstrate strong judgement, you'll take on more responsibility for budget allocation, creative testing strategy, and channel ownership.
What's It Like Working at PetLab Co.?
We've gone to great lengths to set up a data-driven culture wherein the best ideas win, regardless of where they come from. As a rapidly growing company, we prioritise finding people who can think fast, move fast, and deliver fast, while having fun at the same time.
To that end, here's what you'll get access to when you join our team:
- Clear Reporting. Getting accurate and timely data is crucial to enabling marketers to do their jobs, which is precisely what our standalone data analytics team delivers.
- Modern Stack. You'll work day to day in Meta Ads Manager and TikTok Ads Manager, with attribution from Northbeam and Hyros, Data Studio for reporting, and creative performance tooling to inform iteration.
- Collaborative Team. There are no silos here. We all understand that to win, we must help each other out as necessary, doing things outside our normal jobs when needed.
- Scientific Rigor. Everyone on the marketing team shares the same philosophy to attack every challenge with an experimental test-and-learn process to tease out success.
- Variety of Challenges. Given how fast we're growing, the challenges keep coming with new products, promotions, categories, and channels.
- Genuine Mentorship. You'll learn from senior buyers who have scaled PetLab through 9 figures, with structured support to help you progress.
- Refreshing Autonomy. Expectations are set high for anybody who joins the team, but so too is your autonomy to figure out how best to deliver against your objectives.
How Will Your Time Be Spent?
Here's an approximate breakdown of how you'll spend your time as you ramp up:
- 40% on Execution. Hands-on inside Meta Ads Manager and TikTok Ads Manager, setting up, configuring, monitoring, QA-ing, and troubleshooting campaigns, ad sets, ads, and tests under senior guidance.
- 30% on Analysis and Reporting. Diving into campaign and ad-level data across Meta, TikTok, Northbeam, and Data Studio to surface insights, build clear reports, and flag opportunities or issues to seniors.
- 20% on Creative Support. Summarising performance data for the creative team, helping brief in iterations, and learning the craft of building effective creative briefs.
- 10% on Strategy and Learning. Sitting in on planning sessions, supporting tests proposed by senior buyers, and gradually contributing your own ideas as you grow.
Requirements
- 1 to 2 Years in DTC Paid Social. Hands-on experience setting up and managing campaigns in Meta Ads Manager (Facebook and Instagram) and ideally TikTok Ads Manager.
- Solid Foundations in Performance Marketing. Familiarity with direct response, conversion campaigns, and core paid social KPIs including CPA, ROAS, CAC, MER, eROAS, NC-ROAS, CTR, and CVR.
- Awareness of the Modern Meta Landscape. Familiarity with Advantage+ Sales Campaigns (ASC) and the broader shift toward AI-driven, broad-targeting campaign types is a plus.
- Data Comfortable. Confident in spreadsheets and analytics platforms, able to pull, structure, and interpret campaign data without hand-holding. Exposure to Northbeam, Data Studio, or similar attribution and reporting tools is a plus.
- Shopify Awareness. Working knowledge of how DTC ecommerce operates on Shopify, and how paid social fits into the broader funnel.
- Comfortable with AI Tools. Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude to speed up reporting, analysis, and day-to-day workflows is a strong plus.
- Detail-Oriented and Organised. You build clean, well-structured campaigns, name things consistently, and don't let things slip through the cracks.
- Eager to Learn. Energised by a fast-moving environment, open to feedback, and proactive about asking questions and developing your craft.
- Clear Communicator. Able to explain what you've done, what you're seeing in the data, and what you'd recommend, in writing and verbally.
- Team Player. Happy to roll up your sleeves and support the team in whatever way is most useful, with a strong sense of accountability for your own work.
