Are you a marketing professional with a passion for books and reading for pleasure? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new Marketing Executive to join the team at Peters, a leading specialist supplier of books and library furniture to schools and libraries across the UK and internationally.

If you have a flair for writing engaging, customer-focused copy, and would like to support with creating and managing compelling marketing campaigns both online and offline, we’d love to hear from you.

The successful applicant will play a key role in our marketing to schools and educational settings, supporting across all channels including direct mail, web, email marketing, social media, SEO and PPC.

Applicants should have a minimum of one year’s experience in a marketing role and should be a qualified marketer to degree level and/or with a proven record of achievement.

Key responsibilities:
  • To support in the creation and execution of compelling marketing campaigns across all channels online and offline, including direct mail, web, email marketing, social media (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn), SEO and PPC.
  • To produce engaging content and copy for our website, blog, email campaigns and social media, to attract and convert our target audience.
  • To ensure Peters’ marketing across all channels is on brand and has strong visual appeal, and to create graphics as required.
  • To update Peters’ website content using our CMS, ensuring it is up-to-date, regularly refreshed and optimised for SEO/GEO.
  • To monitor campaign responses and provide analysis to help measure the effectiveness of all marketing campaigns and inform future activity.
The successful applicant should:
  • Have a minimum of one year’s experience in a marketing role, and should either be a qualified marketer to degree level or with a proven record of achievement.
  • Be results driven and have strong attention to detail.
  • Be an excellent, customer-focused copywriter and content creator.
  • Have knowledge and experience of social media, email marketing and SEO.
  • Be comfortable liaising, and negotiating, with publishers, suppliers, partners and customers.
  • Be well organised with good time-management skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Enjoy working as part of a team.
  • Experience of or an interest in the publishing and education sectors are desirable, but not essential.
The details:
  • Reports to: Marketing Manager
  • Working hours: Full-time 37.5 hours per week, but flexibility required to accommodate the needs of the business.
  • Contract type: Permanent, full-time.
  • Location: Based at our central Birmingham office (120 Bromsgrove Street, Birmingham, B5 6RJ) 4 days per week with the opportunity to work from home 1 day per week. (Six-month probation period to be completed full-time on-site in Birmingham office.)
  • Salary - £27.5K per annum.
