Peters Fraser & Dunlop [PFD] is seeking a Royalties Assistant to join its busy Royalties team to assist with the timely and accurate processing of royalty payments to PFD authors worldwide. This role would suit either an individual with prior publishing/literary agent/accounts payable experience or a highly numerate graduate who would welcome the chance to join one of London’s leading and longest-established literary agencies.
Location: Central London. Hybrid: 3 days in office and 2 days remote (optional), subject to review.
Salary Range: £28,000 - £34,000 depending on experience

The Royalties team is responsible for processing royalty receipts from publishers through PFD’s rights management system to ensure payments to authors and other agents are made accurately and on time.
About The Role
Reporting to the Head of Royalties, the Royalty Assistant will play an integral role in supporting the Royalties team to ensure our authors and partners are properly remunerated and fully supported in their creative endeavors. Whilst the ability to process financial data accurately and efficiently is paramount, the role will also involve interpreting publishing contracts and corresponding confidently with agents, authors, and partners around the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain author/contract records in PFD’s rights system [Bradbury Phillips (BP)]
- Check the accuracy of incoming publisher royalty statements
- Extract data from publisher statements ready to load into BP
- Perform bank and data reconciliations
- Assist with the distribution of payment advices to authors/partners
- Prepare tax returns and supporting documentation
- Handle author queries professionally and in a timely manner
- Extract and present reports from BP to support management and agents
- Assist with ad hoc projects as requested
About You
- Prior publishing/literary agent/accounts payable experience
- Numerate graduate with proven ability to manipulate data and advanced excel skills [v-look ups, pivot tables, power query]
- Ideally experience of using Bradbury Phillips or another rights/royalties software
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Great communication and organizational skills
