Waking Night Support Worker Children's Residential Home

Shift Hours: 21:30 - 07:30

Shift Pattern: Saturday to Tuesday. 4 Set nights each week

Contract: Full-time permanent

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a vital role in the overnight care and supervision of looked after children. You will ensure a calm, safe, and secure environment throughout the night, responding to any needs that arise and maintaining consistent safeguarding standards. During night shifts, you will remain awake and alert, carrying out regular checks, providing reassurance where needed, and responding appropriately to any incidents or distress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overnight care, supervision, and safeguarding for up to 7 young people.
  • Carry out regular checks throughout the night in line with care plans and risk assessments.
  • Respond calmly and effectively to incidents, distress, or waking children who require support or reassurance.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment during waking night shifts.
  • Accurately record all observations, incidents, and relevant information.
