The home provides care for up to five young people aged 8-18 who need consistent, compassionate support due to emotional and behavioural needs.

About the Role

As Deputy Manager, you'll play a key part in shaping the day-to-day life of the home. Working closely with the Registered Manager, you'll help guide the team, maintain high care standards, and ensure every young person feels safe, valued, and understood. This is a hands-on leadership position combining administrative responsibilities with direct care and team development.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting the overall management and smooth running of the home
  • Leading shifts and stepping up in the Manager's absence
  • Helping build a strong, motivated staff team with clear direction
  • Ensuring care meets all regulatory and quality standards
  • Writing reports, completing audits, and monitoring performance
  • Promoting safeguarding and best practice at all times
  • Building positive relationships with young people, families, and professionals
  • Creating an environment where children feel heard, respected, and supported

  • Taking part in an on-call rota

What We're Looking For

  • Understand children's home regulations and inspection frameworks
  • Hold a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Have at least 2 years experience in a senior role within a children's residential setting (or current Deputy experience)
  • Can stay composed and effective under pressure
  • Demonstrate strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills
  • Bring professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude
