We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a children s residential service and ensure the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality care for children and young people with complex needs.
This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for the operational management of the home, regulatory compliance, safeguarding, staff leadership and service development.
The successful candidate will be registered with Ofsted, or eligible to register, and will have a strong understanding of residential childcare practice, relevant legislation and quality standards.
About the Company The service is supported by a wider multidisciplinary model that includes clinical and therapeutic professionals, transition support and administrative staff.
The Registered Manager will work closely with internal and external professionals to ensure children receive consistent, well-planned care that supports their emotional, social and educational development.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight of the home
- Ensure the service operates in line with Children s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, safeguarding requirements and internal policies
- Lead, supervise and develop staff, including Deputy Managers, Team Leaders, Residential Support Workers and support staff
- Oversee care planning, risk assessments, placement matching and review processes
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all regulatory and statutory responsibilities are met
- Promote a safe, structured and child-centred environment
- Work in partnership with therapists, education professionals, families and external agencies to support positive outcomes for children
- Manage budgets, staffing resources and service performance effectively
- Contribute to quality assurance, audits, service improvement and inspection readiness.
- Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or equivalent
- Registered Manager status with Ofsted, or eligible to register
- At least 2 years recent experience managing children s residential services or another regulated care setting
- Experience working with children with complex needs, including emotional and behavioural difficulties
- Experience leading and managing teams in a residential or care setting
- Good working knowledge of Children s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Safeguarding procedures and risk management
- Trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches
- Health and safety, HR processes and data protection
