Waking Night Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home

Location: Horsham, West Sussex (driver essential due to rural location)
Salary: £27,000 – £29,000 per annum
Hours: 21:30 – 08:00, full-time, permanent
We’re looking for a caring and dependable Waking Night Support Worker to join our committed team at a children’s residential home just outside Horsham.
Our home supports children and young people aged 8–17 who have experienced significant trauma or adversity. Many of the young people we care for present with emotional and behavioural challenges, and your role during the night is crucial in maintaining a calm, safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide consistent overnight care and supervision to young people
*
Monitor safety and wellbeing throughout the night
*
Support bedtime and morning routines with empathy and structure
*
Keep accurate records and handovers for the day team
*
Work as part of a dedicated team focused on trauma-informed care
What We’re Looking For:

A calm, empathetic and resilient approach
*
Some experience working with children or in care (though full training is provided)
*
Willingness to learn and develop professionally
*
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle, as the home is in a rural location
